BMW Maps plans a combined 3D driving view
BMW announced a single display view combining navigation, vehicle surroundings and driver-assistance information. The rollout is planned from October 2026 for vehicles with BMW Operating System X. This is an interface update for supported assistance features, not an announcement that the car can drive without supervision.

BMW iX5 Hydrogen moves through prototype testing
BMW reports parallel work on real-road testing, fuel-cell prototype assembly and manufacturing preparation. The release describes development targets, not a completed customer launch. Range and performance targets should therefore be read as goals under validation, not independently verified road-test results.

MINI shares a fresh look at its five-door Cooper S
MINI’s September release presents the Cooper S 5-door in Nanuq White, with five seats and a 150 kW/204 hp petrol engine. The company describes this as a new image release showing everyday practicality. It is not evidence of a newly launched generation or a new Indian price.

Hyundai reports three electric-car award wins
Hyundai says IONIQ 6 N won Best Electric Performance Car at the 2026 What Car? Electric Car Awards. It also reports used-hybrid awards for TUCSON and the previous-generation SANTA FE. These are named award results reported by the manufacturer, rather than an MVRETHNICS comparison or purchase recommendation.

Lexus expands LY 680 yacht sales overseas
Lexus announced that the LY 680 is expanding to global markets after its earlier Japanese launch. The yacht is scheduled for the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show from 28 October to 1 November. This is a sales-expansion update; the show is still upcoming as of 28 September.

India regularises 14 Amrit Bharat services
The Ministry of Railways reports that 14 Amrit Bharat services changed from special to regular operation in August, bringing the total to 86. The official September report covers connections across several states. Travellers should still check the current railway timetable before planning a journey.

PACT connects demand for cleaner freight
NITI Aayog launched the Platform for Aggregating Clean Transport at the e-FAST summit. It aims to bring freight demand, vehicle suppliers, charging providers and finance partners together. The ZET Marketplace was also introduced. These are coordination tools for electric freight, not a claim that all Indian trucks are now electric.

France puts two battery-powered regional trains into service
Alstom reports battery-powered regional services on Nîmes–Vauvert from 31 August and Avignon–Carpentras from 28 July. The trains are part of a programme testing operation on routes that are not fully electrified. The September announcement marks services already running, rather than only a future order.

TransPennine Express orders a battery-electric fleet
Alstom announced contracts worth €1.2 billion covering trains and long-term maintenance for TransPennine Express. Planned features include level boarding, wheelchair spaces and charging infrastructure. The September milestone is the contract: the announcement should not be read as confirmation that this new fleet is already carrying passengers.

AutomatedTrain demonstrates driverless rail technology
Siemens Mobility, Deutsche Bahn and partners demonstrated automation technologies integrated into a Mireo train. The project explores fully automated operation on open rail networks. This is a research milestone; it does not announce a new public driverless passenger route that readers can book today.
